Overview
Laser treatments have become a popular choice for skin rejuvenation, offering a highly effective solution for a variety of skin concerns, such as fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, acne scars, and even active acne on both the face and body. Lasers work by either targeting and clearing unwanted pigmentation or by resurfacing the skin – essentially stimulating the skin’s natural healing process by creating controlled damage to the cells.
While the term “damage” may sound concerning, it’s this controlled process that triggers the production of new collagen, helping to reduce the appearance of aging signs. As with all energy-based treatments, the intensity of the procedure and the degree of skin response depends on the amount of energy applied during the treatment.
Please note – laser carbon facial can be followed by laser genesis (BBL) treatment for the ultimate combined laser facial treatment
Types of Laser skin rejuvenation
An increasingly popular celebrity favourite, also known as the ‘Hollywood Facial’ – this is the ultimate laser skin rejuvenation treatment that dramatically improves the outer skin and the deep dermis.
The carbon laser treatment cleanses, exfoliates and rejuvenates by taking away any dirt and dead skin. The carbon peels also target the deep layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production, which in turn produces firmer, plumper skin, reduces fine lines and wrinkles and leaves skin feeling tighter and glowing.
The treatment is quick, easy and completely painless.
IPL Skin Rejuvenation (also known as ‘laser genesis’) treatments work by delivering intense pulses of light to the skin, creating heat energy that stimulates new collagen production.
Laser genesis is a non-invasive and comfortable procedure that uses a laser to gently heat the skin. It can help smooth the skin and reduce the look of fine lines, dark spots, and wrinkles. Typically, its primary use is to fade scarring, redness, and broken blood vessels, and improve the look of rosacea. The light therapy process also assists with unwanted pigmented skin, helps firm the skin and reduces pore size, resulting in more even-toned and brighter-looking skin.
Laser genesis works for people of all ages and skin tones who want to reduce the appearance of fine lines or redness.
Laser, using focused wavelengths, specifically target the bacteria responsible for acne and also reduce inflammation to help calm the skin from within. The medical grade laser equipment at Be. Beauty and Laser clinic uses various filters to produce blue and red light to carry out these treatments.
The first part of the treatment utilises blue light which targets the acne-causing bacteria propionibacterium acnes (commonly referred to as p. acnes) due to its high absorption by porphyrins within the bacteria. This part of the treatment not only reduces bacterial growth but also lowers the activity of sebaceous glands, directly addressing one of the root causes of acne.
The second part of the treatment uses Red light which possesses anti-inflammatory properties, helping to reduce redness and swelling associated with acne lesions.
